So I’m starting off with 3/4 cup of sweet almond oil with the oil that I chose and I’m going to pour it into a double boiler. That’s heated then I’m going to add a third of a cup of coconut oil and again if you don’t have coconut oil it’s okay. You can substitute other oils. I just happen to love the qualities of the coconut oil and it has a wonderfully very subtle nice coconut smell and we’ll add that then we’re going to add a teaspoon of lanolin. The lanolin actually helps when we get to the water-based part of this cream. It helps to emulsify and combine the waters and the oils together. So a teaspoon of lanolin and then lastly we’re going to add a half ounce of beeswax you want to stir the ingredients together until the beeswax and the coconut oil is fully melted once the beeswax and the lanolin have melted.

We’re going to go ahead and pour this back into our glass container to cool. we’re going to let this cool until it reaches room temperature which can typically take about an hour. While the oil-based side of our cream is cooling off we’re going to go ahead and get the water-based side of the cream ready, so we’re going to take 1/3 of a cup of aloe vera gel and pour that into our blender and then 2/3 cup of water and at this point if you’d like to add a scent to the cream you can add some essential oils to it and about anywhere depending on your personal preference of how strong you want the scent to be 10 to 20 drops of essential oil.

You want to make sure that you put the lid of the blender on with the center piece missing and you’re going to turn the blender on at full speed the things that are really important. Here is the temperature of the oil-based side of our ingredients and the speed of which that you add the oil-based ingredients to the water-based ingredients and what I like to do is I like to actually loosen up loosen up. The oil-based side a little bit, so that it pours more readily into the blender. I’m just stirring it gently then I’m going to turn the blender on at full speed and I’m going to slowly add the oil-based part of our cream to it and I will let it continue the blender until you kind of hear it choke and you’ll see that the cream has formed and then you can stop now.
